“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8, NIV)

1. God’s Loving Nature

Our first source of divine favour lies in the nature of God Himself. He is a loving and compassionate Father who desires to bless His children abundantly. As the book of Psalms reminds us:

“But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” (Psalm 86:15, NIV)

God’s love knows no bounds, and His favour springs from His boundless love for us. When we seek His face in prayer, we tap into this wellspring of divine favour.

2. Faith in Jesus Christ

Another source of divine favour is our faith in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Through His sacrifice on the cross, we have been reconciled with God, and we now stand justified and favoured in His sight. The book of Romans declares:

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1, NIV)
