Prayer points for children

Today we are focusing on “Prayer Points for Children.” Children are like arrows in the hands of a warrior, so says the Holy Book in Psalms 127:4. These little ones, full of potential, are God’s heritage unto us; a reward, a blessing, and also a responsibility. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14).

The future of our children is shaped by the prayers we offer today. In a world rife with all kinds of influences, the prayer altar is our first line of defense. We must stand in the gap, declaring God’s promises and rebuking every plan of the enemy against our children. Let’s proceed, in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen!

The Role of Children in the Bible

Children are not an afterthought in the agenda of God. From the Old to the New Testament, children have been significant in the fulfillment of divine plans. Consider Isaac, the child of promise born to Abraham and Sarah in their old age. His birth was not just an answer to a personal prayer, but a cornerstone in the divine plan for humanity!

Then we have Samuel, another child of promise, dedicated to the Lord even before his conception. His prophetic ministry transformed a nation and ushered in the era of Kings. Let’s not forget David, anointed as a young shepherd boy, who later became a king after God’s own heart!

In the New Testament, Jesus Himself was once a child, targeted by Herod but preserved by divine instruction. And of course, Timothy, mentored by Apostle Paul, shows us how young people can be fully engaged in the work of ministry.

These examples are more than stories; they are spiritual signposts pointing us towards the importance of children in God’s grand scheme. Each child has a divine destiny, and as custodians, it is our spiritual duty to guide them towards it through fervent prayers. May our children rise and fulfill their God-ordained destinies! Amen and Amen!

Why Prayers are Essential for Children

If you ever doubted the efficacy of prayers in your child’s life, let those doubts be shattered now! The enemy is not sleeping; he prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Therefore, it is imperative that we cover our children in prayer. Here are some particular reasons why:

  • When you pray, you create a spiritual shield around your children, rendering the devices of the enemy impotent! The Scripture says, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).
  • Your children are navigating a world filled with choices. Prayers act as a divine GPS, guiding them in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake (Psalm 23:3).
  • The kind of virtues that last a lifetime are often instilled through prayer. We can ask God to develop fruits of the Spirit like love, joy, peace, and patience in them (Galatians 5:22-23).
  • As your children grow, they’ll need wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in academics and various life skills. The Scripture tells us that if we lack wisdom, we should ask from God (James 1:5).
  • Let’s not forget that our children also face health challenges. Prayer becomes the vehicle through which divine health and emotional stability are made manifest in their lives.

Prayer Points for Children

Let us rise to the occasion, standing in the gap for these precious ones, our children, with the following prayer points:

  1. Father, in Jesus’ name, I decree that my children are covered by the blood of Jesus. No evil shall befall them!
  2. Lord, fill my children with wisdom and understanding beyond their years, just like you did for King Solomon!
  3. Father, make my children the head and not the tail in their academics. Let them excel beyond measure!
  4. Lord, instill in my children a spirit of obedience and submission to authority. Make them respectful!
  5. Jehovah Rapha, I declare that my children enjoy divine health. Every form of sickness is far from them!
  6. Father, let my children be filled with love and compassion for everyone they come in contact with. Ah, make them lights in this world!
  7. I decree favor upon my children. Let them find grace in the eyes of both God and man!
  8. Father, surround my children with friends that will draw them closer to You and not away from You.
  9. Jehovah Shalom, let the peace that surpasses all understanding guard the hearts and minds of my children!
  10. Lord, guide my children into the careers and future You have predestined for them. Let them fulfill their earthly missions!
  11. Father, I ask for rapid spiritual growth. Let my children hunger and thirst for righteousness!
  12. Lord: Ah, instill in my children the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom!
  13. Lord, grant my children the grace to make righteous and beneficial decisions always.
  14. Father, let all the gifts and talents You’ve placed in my children come to fruition for Your glory!
  15. Even from a young age, let my children understand the importance of financial stewardship and integrity!
  16. Lord, grant my children the strength to bounce back from setbacks and to press on toward their God-given goals!
  17. Lord, give my children a heart for evangelism, that they may win souls for Your kingdom!
  18. Father, teach my children to respect and honor their elders, according to Your word.
  19. I pray for the future spouses and families of my children. Lord, prepare them and lead them to each other in Your perfect time!
  20. Finally, Father, let a spirit of gratitude be instilled in my children. Let them always recognize and give thanks for Your blessings!

Brethren, be relentless! May you see the manifestation of these prayers in your children’s lives! Amen and Amen!
